Wannabe Strictly stars in Nantwich can now sign up to compete in the 2013 “Strictly Learn to Dance” competition.
The event, to help raise funds for St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice, proved a big hit last year with the final at Nantwich Civic Hall.
And once again the search is on for Cheshire’s budding ballroom and Latin stars to shimmy into the spotlight.
The competition is open to couples or individuals, and will see up to 20 dance couples transformed into confident dancers.
Starting on January 8, regular Salsa and Tango tuition of 45 minutes per week will be given to all the participants in Tarporley every Tuesday evening.
The event will culminate in a fun Grand Finale at Nantwich Civic Hall on Sunday April 28. A panel of judges will watch the couples dance and pick an overall winner.
Participants will be asked to register and commit to raise sponsorship of at least £300.
Tickets for the finale will be on sale from March to raise money for the St Luke’s Hospice.
Liz Wells, fundraising events coordinator, said: “The first Strictly Learn to Dance event was a huge success and I think we can do even better in 2013.”
