Nantwich Town manager Jimmy Quinn has added to his team with the signing of centre-half Charlie Raglan.

The former Port Vale, Stockport and Hinckley United player will make his debut at home to Whitby Town tomorrow (February 9).

“He is a fantastic young player who is ambitious to realise his potential and dream of playing league football,” said Quinn.

“This is one of the reasons he has chosen Nantwich over a host of other clubs that were after his signature, as he knows we have a great track record of developing and improving players and we are delighted to have him as part of our plans.”

Quinn also paid tribute to Mark Beesley, who has left the club.

“Mark is a fantastic person and a model professional and it’s unfortunate things have not gone as well as we all expected for him.

“We both agreed at this stage of his career he needs to be playing games regularly and with the signing of Jason Oswell there is now increased competition for places.

“I would like to thank him for the contribution he has made and wish him all the best for the future.”

International clearance has now been received from the Scottish FA for former Crewe Alex and Inverness Caledonian Thistle player Oswell and he will also play tomorrow.

“Jason is a young player I rate very highly,” said Quinn.

“I am in no doubt he will go on to bigger things, as he is big and strong, wins his headers and holds the ball up well.

“I am looking forward to working with him and hopefully helping him develop into a top striker.”

Kick off at Weaver Stadium tomorrow is 3pm.
