More than 40 members of Crewe & Nantwich Rambling Club took part in their latest day trip to Malvern Hills.

Members of all ages, including an 80-year-old, enjoyed the walks taking in the Worcestershire beauty spot.

The A walkers set out on a 13-mile ramble covering the full length of the Malvern Hills in one day.

And a more relaxed B party walked a 9-mile route at a more leisurely pace allowing them to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

The C party continued by coach to Great Malvern where they walked a six-mile route to the to the Worcestershire Beacon (425m) and return to Great Malvern.

The Malvern Hills divide the counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

“The drama and beauty of the hills arises from the way they dramatically rise out of this landscape,” said club spokesman Bryan Clydesdale.

“A wild and windy day was experienced by the walkers but as is said the sun shines on the faithful and no rain fell on the walkers despite rain showers being see over the surrounding country side.

“After an exhilarating walk all retired to the Great Malvern Hotel where Malvern Hills Black Pear beverage was sampled and pronounced excellent.”

Rambles are held every two weeks on Sundays throughout the year and there evening rambles on alternate Thursdays in summer.
