The Cheshire branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association is staging a charity ball at a Nantwich golf club.

The event takes place on Saturday May 10 at Brookfield Golf Club in Hankelow.

It will feature a three-course meal and music, with entertainment provided by Rollercoaster – a four-piece band.

There will also be a raffle with a host of prizes up for grabs.

The event has been organised by Cheshire branch committee member Hazel Francis, from Nantwich.

She said: “It’s sure to be a fantastic night with good food and wine, great music which will get guests up on the dance floor, and a brilliant atmosphere.

“The proceeds raised will be a great boost to the work of the Cheshire branch – helping to fund support group meetings, pay for vital equipment for those living with the condition, and research into better therapies and ultimately a cure for MND.”

MND is a progressive neurological disease which causes the death of the neurones which send messages from the brain to the muscles.

Once the neurones die, the muscles waste away, and with them the ability to move, speak, swallow and breathe.

To buy tickets for the night – costing £30 – or donate a raffle prize contact Hazel on 01270 626222.
