Nantwich Skoolzfest Big Sing 2015

Thousands of people  packed into Nantwich town centre to enjoy another successful Skoolzfest and Nantwich Fete.

Families young and old enjoyed the warm summer sunshine along with a wide array of entertainment and activities.

It was all kicked off by youngsters from 15 schools around Nantwich taking part in the “Big Sing” on the town square.

The musical, singing and dancing talents of pupils from all schools was on full show for the crowds.

Visitors also enjoyed the zany teddy bears on zipwires, organised by local scouts to raise funds.

There were dozens of stalls, fair rides, entertainment such as Punch and Judy, games, refreshments and much more.

The Battle of the Bands on the stage in the square was also another big hit, and community online radio station Redshift Radio provided music and helped compere some entertainment.

Crewe & Nantwich MP Edward Timpson officially opened proceedings before the pupils started the Big Sing.

“As patron, I was incredibly proud to open the Big Sing and Nantwich Fete,” said Mr Timpson.

“And congratulations must go to all the schools for taking part.”

The event was also supported by Nantwich Town Council, with Mayor Cllr Andrew Martin present during the day.
