The Young Actors group in South Cheshire is launching TYAFridays in Nantwich – to create a Frankenstein!
The group will meet weekly at St Mary’s Parish Hall, Nantwich, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm during term time.
It aims to create a scratch production of the famous “Frankenstein” story, to be performed before Christmas.
Organised by Ed Passmore, TYA Creative’s drama and acting consultant, the sessions will include lessons in acting techniques covering method acting, voice training, movement skills, and theory.
“As the team gains a grounding in these skills we will put them into practise by devising our own version of Frankenstein,” said Ed.
“If successful, we will then restart in the new year with another term’s worth of sessions and a new production.
“The content will be tailored to suit the taste and skill level of the members and there will be an active role in the performance for all members who wish to be seen on stage.”
Others can get involved in designing and building the set, costume, and props, and there will be provision for lighting and sound.
“We would like this to be a group which evolves to meet the needs of its members!” he added.
TYA Creative has run drama groups in Crewe and Nantwich for 10 years.
This includes Saturday morning drama clubs at Malbank School and Crewe Lyceum, and after-school clubs at St Anne’s, Willaston, and Wistaston Church Lane among others.
Each TYAFriday session will cost £10 for adults and £8 for students.
