A South Cheshire man has been jailed for five years for a string of sexual offences while working as a volunteer at the Crewe Heritage Centre.
Rory Kenny, 52, pleaded guilty to 20 charges with his victims as young as 13.
At Chester Crown Court, he was guilty of eight charges of causing or inciting a boy 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity, six of sexual activity with a boy, and six of sexual assault on a male.
The charges relate to activity with three teenage boys – who cannot be identified for legal reasons – over a two-year period.
Kenny, of Gresty Road, Crewe, worked as a volunteer at the Heritage Centre, where he carried out his offences.
The court heard he invited his victims into the centre outside opening hours, and persuaded them to carry out his requests.
His actions came to light when the father of one of the victims reported it to police, following a disclosure from his son.
Kenny (pictured) was arrested in January this year and after a lengthy police investigation, was later charged with the offences to which he pleaded guilty.
Det Con Janet Swinbank, who led the investigation, said: “The offender in this case is a highly manipulative and controlling individual.
“He took advantage of the position he was in at the Crewe Heritage Centre to abuse his three victims.
“I hope the sentence passed allows them some closure on their ordeals and they can now move on with the rest of their lives knowing that Rory Kenny has been brought to justice.”
Kenny was jailed for five years at Chester Crown Court today (December 23).
He was also handed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
