Nantwich Litter Group’s latest recruit Edward Timpson pitched in as volunteers cleaned the town’s streets.
The Crewe & Nantwich MP donned his hi-vis vest and grabbed a bin liner to join other hardy team members for the latest clean.
He joined litter group chairman John Lewis and team leader Joyce Webb before taking to the streets to capture litter.
It was held as part of the national Clean for the Queen weekend.
And a large turnout of volunteers met in Nantwich Square to show solidarity with residents and visitors in the campaign to eradicate the litter problem.
They dispersed across town for an hour of picking followed by refreshments at Nantwich Methodist Church.
A spokesperson for Nantwich Litter Group said they hoped welcoming Mr Timpson would boost awareness.
“It is hoped that the high profile given to this campaign throughout the country will raise the awareness level of the anti-social nature of littering and the high cost borne by us all in clearing up after the litter louts.”
