Around 150 classic cars are expected to line up next month for the popular Nantwich event, the Weaver Wander.
The event, organised by the Rotary Club of Crewe & Nantwich Weaver, is set to take place on Saturday May 28.
Organisers say around 110 cars are already registered, and expect this figure to rise to around 150.
The event helps to raise money for the Rotary club’s chosen charities for 2016 – Parkinson’s UK and Macmillan Cancer Support, along with our other local Rotary nominated charities.
Vehicles will travel a 90-mile navigation run after gathering at Reaseheath College from 8.30am.
A minimum donation of £20/car is requested for the navigation run with the start taking place in Nantwich Town Square.
The first car will depart at 9.30am, embarking on a route through Cheshire and Shropshire countryside to the ‘lunch stop’ at Chirk Castle.
National Trust has arranged a group rate to Weaver Wander participants to the castle and gardens, £10 for adults and £5 for children with members free with their cards.
The event then returns to Reaseheath College for the presentation of various awards.
These include the “Melvyn Reynolds” award for the crew that best displays the “spirit of the event” and other awards at 5pm.
There are no restrictions on types of vehicles entered other than being “road-legal”.
