Police have charged four men with robbery following an investigation into a raid at a Nantwich jewellery shop.
Offenders wearing balaclavas forced a hole in the window of Moody’s shop on Pillory Street on Wednesday (July 27).
A number of watches were taken before offenders escaped in a vehicle.
A van travelling along the M6 was identified and followed by police.
Four men from the van were stopped in the Staffordshire area and arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Lewis Chalmers, 26, of Oswald Road, in Chorlton Cum Hardy;’ Patrick David Massey, 25, of Pegwell Drive, Salford; Darren James McAndrew, 32, of Edlington Walk, Newton Heath; Joseph Anthony Schofield, 20, of Dob Brook Close in Manchester, have been charged and were due to appear at South and East Cheshire Magistrates today (July 29).
Det Insp Alison Ross, of Cheshire Police, said: “I’d really like to thank the community for the help they gave us at the time of the offence and during the investigation.
“Information from the public is vital and valuable to us.”
