Nantwich estate agents Baker Wynne & Wilson has completed its £25,000 Community Pledge by handing out funds to 24 local charities and organisations.
The firm held a celebration event at Combermere Abbey where the lucky beneficiaries were invited to pick up their grants.
Bake Wynne & Wilson launched the competition back in February as a way of celebrating 25 years in business in the Nantwich area.
Groups applied for a share of the pledge by describing what they do and how funds would benefit them.
A judging panel, which included High Sheriff of Cheshire Sarah Callander Beckett, celebrity vet Steve Leonard, MD of cheese producer Mike Heler, former Nantwich Mayor Christine Farrall, had the tough job of selecting the winning 24 entries.
And all 24 beneficiaries, along with partners and members of their bid teams, attended the Combermere Abbey champagne and canapé reception to meet the judges (pictured, below).
John Baker, of Baker Wynne & Wilson, said: “This whole process has been fantastic and has really opened our eyes to the amazing work that people are doing in our community.
“From the Overwater Wheelyboat Services, who make it possible for adults and children with disabilities to enjoy the British waterways, to Cheshire Young Carers, Riding for the Disabled, Worleston District Village Hall and Home-Start, which provides support to local families who are going through challenging times.
“This is just a handful of the organisations that we have chosen and we can’t wait to see how they are putting the pledge funding to great use.”
