Dear Zoo author Rod Campbell is bringing his hit-festive story Dear Santa to Crewe Lyceum this weekend.
The show, aimed at youngsters aged under 7, is full of Christmas songs and audience participation.
And there is a chance to meet and receive a Christmas gift from Santa himself.
Dear Santa tells the story of Santa’s determination to deliver the most fantastic Christmas present to Sarah.
But things don’t go well, and he doesn’t get it right straight away!
With the help of his cheeky Elf, he finally settles on something ‘perfect’, just in time for Christmas Eve.
The cast of three features David Westbrook as Santa, Martin Atkinson as Santa’s helper Elf, and Becky Hoyle as Sarah.
Rod Campbell began his career in children’s books in 1980 when he was asked to illustrate some small early learning books for the children’s publisher Blackie.
From here he discovered he enjoyed involvement with children’s publishing, and the early 80s saw the emergence of so-called ‘novelty’ books for children.
Campbell’s use of interactive elements established his reputation for innovative books for the under 5s.
Many had flaps to lift or other interactive elements, the best known of which being Dear Zoo.
Dear Santa runs for three performances at the Crewe Lyceum – on Saturday December 1 at 1.30pm and 3.30pm, and on Sunday December 2 at 11am.
The show is 55 minutes with a meet and greet time with Santa & Elf after.
