A shopkeeper was injured in a sword attack inside a Nantwich Road store in Crewe, say police.
The incident happened in Crewe Supermarket, at around 7-7.30pm on Friday (January 4) where the shopkeeper suffered injuries to his shoulder.
Police say the attacker, a man, was white, slim build, 184cm, wearing dark clothing with a scarf covering the lower half of his face.
Detective Inspector Claire Jesson, of Crewe Police, said: “This is a nasty incident and seemingly unprovoked.
“I am urging anyone with information regarding the identity of this offender, any customers present in the shop at the time or any other persons in the vicinity to contact us as a matter of urgency please.
“I would reassure the public that this is an isolated incident and we are doing everything possible to catch the person responsible.”
