Nantwich Food Festival is holding an open evening in a bid to attract new volunteers to help at the 2019 event.
The festival is the largest free food festival in the UK, and is run entirely by volunteers.
More than 100 community-spirited people gave their time to make last year’s event a success.
And this Monday (May 13), they will be holding the first “New Volunteer” evening as preparations are underway for the three-day festival this year which attracts up to 40,000 people.
The New Volunteer evening will be held at the Leopard pub on London Road, Nantwich, from 6.30pm.
Anyone interested in volunteering is invited.
Many volunteer roles exist, from welcoming members of the public, giving information and advice, handing out free festival brochures, as well as essential cleaning up and keeping the car parks flowing.
Volunteers also work with more than 220 exhibitors who fill the marquees and town centre.
Volunteer coordinator Ana Martins said: “The Nantwich Food Festival relies on our fantastic band of willing volunteers, whom we thank sincerely.
“As visitor numbers grow we need even more people to get involved.
“In addition to the festival weekend volunteering, there are a few roles that need input throughout the year: all details of these are available at the Volunteer evening or by emailing me, so please see below for my contact details.
“The festival is a great opportunity to join our friendly community, do something for Nantwich, make new friends, and have great fun at the same time.
“There are no set hours or requirements, so people can help for two hours, all day, or even the whole weekend. New volunteers will be supported in whatever role/s they opt for.
“We have volunteers of all ages and abilities, so anyone is welcome to join us.
“If you have a little spare time and want to be a part of the success of Nantwich Food Festival, you are most welcome to hear more about helping make our town the special place that it is.”
Drinks and snacks will be provided on Monday May 13, and there is no obligation at all to sign up.
