Police are investigating an alleged break-in at a Nantwich restaurant during the current lockdown.
Bosses at Deadwood Smokehouse on Beam Street have circulated this image of a man they say broke into the restaurant last night (April 11).
In a statement, they said: “Luckily our staff found him and scared him off.
“We would like to know a little more about who he is.
“Annoyingly all of us Deadwood staff are in a total closed circle as to stay healthy and safe during this and ensure we can still serve you all without any of us getting ill.
“Then the entire operation stops, and we have random outsiders to deal with.
“If anyone recognises, or could help, our staff safety and security is our number one priority.”
A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police confirmed: “At 9.28pm on Saturday April 11, police were called to reports of an unknown man walking into a restaurant on Beam Street in Nantwich through an open door.
“The man was then disturbed and left the area.
“Anyone who has information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 680531.”
The Deadwood Smokehouse restaurant is closed during the national COVID-19 lockdown, but they are operating a meal delivery service to people’s doors like many other food outlets in the town.
