A park user has warned residents to be wary of dangerous dogs after he was attacked twice in Nantwich’s Brookfield Park.

The 62-year-old victim said he was walking along the footpath outside Brookfield House when one dog charged at him and began barking and jumping to try and bite him.

“I had to raise my arms in the air to protect them,” said the man, who wishes to remain anonymous.

“I told the owner to control the dog. The dog ran to him then attacked me again.

“I told the owner it was not on and he was bolshy about it as if he was not in the wrong.”

The man reported the incident to Nantwich Police.

“Later I received a message saying they’d been to have a look on Brookfield Park but found no one with a dog.

“They told me to contact them if it happens again and to contact the Cheshire East Dog Warden.”

He described the dog as black with a slight appearance of a Labrador, and the owner with a beard and wearing blue jeans.

“I should not be made to feel too scared to walk near this dog again or to feel that I can’t walk through Brookfield Park again in case the dog is there,” said the victim.
