A Nantwich police officer is to face a charge of common assault after an incident in the town centre, says the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
PC Matthew James Ambrose, based at Nantwich police station, has been summonsed to appear at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday May 27.
The IPCC says the charge relates to an allegation that Mr Ambrose assaulted a 19-year-old man.
The alleged incident took place during an arrest in Swine Market, Nantwich in the early hours of Saturday November 1, 2014.
