Police raided a house in Nantwich and recovered what is believed to be part of a cannabis farm.
Stunned residents looked on as police vehicles and a number of officers carried out the raid at a house on Rookery Close, Nantwich.
One resident living nearby, who witnessed the raid, said she was told a “cannabis farm” had been found in the property.
“There were loads of police, it was quite dramatic at that time in the morning,” she added.
“We’ve heard there was a cannabis farm growing at the house, but we didn’t know who lived there.”
Police have confirmed a 55-year-old man was arrested at the property and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
A spokesman said: “Officers from Crewe and Nantwich neighbourhood policing teams executed a warrant at 8am on Friday in Nantwich.
“Property was seized from the address and a 55-year-old man has been arrested and released on bail while we make further enquiries.
“All we can confirm is that we have seized a number of plants. Testing them will form part of an ongoing enquiry.”
Only the latest in a number of raids in the area. It seems almost a weekly occurrence. They found a whole industrial unit growing the stuff in Whitchurch.
I do wonder how much longer this stuff will be illegal. A number of countries seem to be changing the law to allow people to smoke the stuff.
