Pupils at a Stapeley school enjoyed brewing up when they took part in the fundraising Biggest Coffee Morning.
Parents, staff and pupils at Pear Tree Primary enjoyed the event, held to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer.
And they were joined by special guests Andrew Cliffe, head of Brine Leas, Craig Machin from Chatwins, and MP Edward Timpson’s wife Julia.
New headteacher Boo Edleston said: “This is the first time the school has hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning and we were delighted with the tremendous support we received.”
Ruth Hadfield, deputy headteacher at Pear Tree, who organised the event with her Year 6 class, added: “We were delighted that Andy, Julia and Craig came along.
“They helped Chris Sykes, our Year 4 teacher, to judge the ‘Pear Tree Bake-Off’ competition.
“This proved to be hotly contested with more than 25 entries!
“We are set to raise in excess of £200, which was an impressive total for our first such event.
“Our Year six pupils did a tremendous job sending out invitations, publicising the event and helping on the day and we were delighted to see so many members of our school family come and support this very worth will cause.”
Chatwins donated gingerbread men for each child in Year 6 and chocolate eclairs to sell at the event.
And local businesses including The Cronkinson Farm pub, White Ribbon, Francesco’s hairdressers and WH Smiths among others in Nantwich donated prizes.
“It was a lovely community event and has spurred us on to plan more events in the future,” added Mrs Hadfield.
