An organised crime gang led by a Nantwich has been sentenced as part of an investigation into human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

Krzysztof Henryk Jakubiak was jailed for three-and-a-half years during a hearing at Warrington Crown Court.

Nantwich Aqueduct reopened after £235,000 restoration

The Grade II* listed Nantwich Aqueduct has officially been opened after a two-month restoration project by the Canal & River Trust.

The £235,000 work involved removing layers of old paint from the aqueduct’s structure, replacing a missing cast iron panel, repairs to the stone and brickwork and applying four coats of new paint.

The seabirds are currently at Stapeley Grange, on London Road, after they were found grounded and exhausted having been blown off-course by the strong winds.
