Staff and visitors at a marina near Nantwich have helped to raise more than £1,000 for charities. Aqueduct Marina, at Church Minshull, has staged a number of events to raise the cash in the marina café and reception area.
Staff at a trust which supports adults with learning disabilities in Crewe and Nantwich, celebrated success at an awards night. The Lady Verdin Trust held its annual dinner and dance at Nantwich Civic Hall, with more than 300 members of staff, clients and supporters.

Salvation Army Trading Company’s charity shop in Nantwich launches its Christmas campaign this week. And staff at the Beam Street store are appealing to shoppers that “all we want for Christmas is…your donations!”
The Greyhound Rescue West of England group will be holding its annual Christmas Fair at Nantwich Civic Hall this weekend. The event takes place on Saturday November 23 from 10am to 4pm.

Organisers of Operation Christmas Child in Nantwich are appealing for help to fill shoeboxes of gifts for needy youngsters. The project, run by Samaritan’s Purse, takes place across the country and returns to Nantwich after success last year.
Leighton Hospital teams raised more than £4,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support – the highest of any hospital in Cheshire. The teams ran various coffee and cake events, to top the Cheshire fund-raising league for the second year running.
A fund-raising coffee morning will take place at St Mary’s Church in Nantwich to help raise funds for Leukaemia research. The event will be held from 9am to midday on Saturday November 23 at the Nantwich Parish Rooms.
