Four people have been arrested in connection with a series of high value burglaries across the UK including three in Willaston near Nantwich.

More than 30 officers executed warrants at addresses in Walsall, Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham leading to the arrests of three Albanian men (aged 27, 28, 30) and a 33-year-old British woman.

The mother of tragic Nantwich teenager Jonty Evans has vowed to “fight on” after a coroner ruled it may never be known how he came to be found dead in the River Weaver.

Jonty, 16, from Baddington, was discovered in the river close to a footbridge on Mill Island last September, after being reported missing the previous day.

A couple from Nantwich have been found guilty of arson with intent to endanger life after starting a fire in their Kingsbourne apartment at Christmas last year.

Daniel and Charlotte Wollaston were also found guilty of perverting the course of justice after a trial at Chester Crown Court.

Reaseheath College in Nantwich has been fined £40,000 after a student’s fingers were severed when his hand came into contact with a mitre saw.

Aaron Maguire, from Crewe, was a second year Horticulture student at the land-based college when his hand came into contact with the blade of the saw in September 2023.
