Cheshire East Council is backing a move to reduce smartphone use in schools to safeguard children, writes Belinda Ryan.
The children and families committee unanimously supported recommendations yesterday (Monday) to keep smartphones out of the classroom.
Two people were taken to hospital after a crash in Wistaston left one car on its roof.
The incident happened on Wistaston Green Road at around 8.15am today (February 17).

Nantwich Police have vowed to ramp up their checks on fake IDs being used by younger people trying to access licenced premises.

Cheshire East Council has been forced to scrap plans for an alternative provision school in Crewe because the DfE won’t engage with the council over a timeline for the scheme.
The children and families committee voted in favour of pulling the plug on plans to demolish the former Crewe Baths at Flag Lane and replace it with a school for excluded pupils.

Councillors will be updated next week on progress on the new Basford East Primary School as plans have been submitted for the proposed new build.
The school, which will be built on land off David Whitby Way, will cater for children from the 815 new homes being built in the area.
