Nantwich Town boss Jimmy Quinn has emerged as the latest contender for the vacant Northern Ireland manager’s position. Quinn and Faroe Islands boss Brian Kerr were the latest to be linked to the position after the resignation of Nigel Worthington following Northern Ireland’s failure to qualify for the 2012 Euro Championships.

A lorry which jack-knifed across both carriageways of the M6 in Cheshire, crashing into several cars, caused traffic chaos for thousands of motorists today. Police don’t believe the huge fire which engulfed a Nantwich metal merchants and brought traffic around the town to a standstill was not suspicious. The blaze at Garratt’s Metals, on Alvaston Business Park, forced police to close the A500, A51 and A530 routes in the Reaseheath and Sainsbury’s area because of thick plumes of smoke affecting drivers.
