Cheshire East Council has formally appointed Lorraine O’Donnell as its new £150,000-a-year chief executive.
It follows the council’s cross-party staffing committee recommending Ms O’Donnell as their preferred candidate after a recruitment process.

A woman with more than 25 years’ experience in local government will be named as Cheshire East Council’s new chief executive next week.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has appointed James Sumner as its new chief executive.
Mr Sumner has more than 20 years of experience in the NHS and is currently chief accountable officer at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust.
The suspended chief executive of Cheshire East Council Mike Suarez has handed in his resignation, the authority has confirmed.
Mr Suarez was suspended in April 2017 by the council’s investigation and disciplinary committee.
