Cheshire East Council spent the equivalent of nearly £202,000 in staff time investigating complaints about councillors in 2024/25.
A total of 44 complaints were received by the monitoring officer during the last financial year. Of these, 36 related to town or parish councillors.

Cheshire East’s “upgraded” planning system has come under fire as one councillor said she’s been inundated with complaints from residents unable to respond to consultations online.
