Three hundred homes could built in Crewe town centre instead of a leisure park which Cheshire East Council shelved due to rising costs.

The council is currently in talks with an unnamed developer over proposals to build the 300 homes on the former Royal Arcade site.

New homes plan for Doddington Estate near Nantwich

Plans have been submitted for 18 homes on land at Doddington Estate at Bridgemere, which is expected to see a total of 112 dwellings on site over future years.

Outline permission for the scheme was granted at appeal in 2020 after Cheshire East Council refused the application.

A developer’s bid to add four more homes to a rural development near Bickerton Hill has been rejected by councillors.

Cheshire East Council’s southern planning committee turned down a scheme from Torus Group to build 17 homes – including six affordable properties – on vacant former agricultural land in Mill Lane, Bulkeley.
