Hundreds of drivers have been caught up in roadworks hell around Nantwich this week, with a staggering 15 different sets of works taking place.
Residents today demanded action on why so many works have been planned at the same time.
Cheshire East Council Leader Michael Jones today apologised to Nantwich residents caught up in the traffic chaos gripping the town.
Cllr Jones and Nantwich South and Stapeley Cllr Peter Groves told Nantwichnews they were “sorry” after a flood of complaints about roadworks causing massive delays on Holly Holy Day.
Nantwich residents hit out after the town was left in gridlock by roadworks at a busy junction which are set to clash with one of the biggest public events in the town.
Thousands of motorists have been caught up in chaotic traffic scenes today (Friday January 23).
A number of roadworks on major routes in and around Nantwich have caused traffic chaos in the town. The main A500 nantwich bypass between Peacock (Crewe Road) and Sainsbury’s (Middlewich Road) roundabouts has been closed today (June 21) for resurfacing.
