Defibrillators to be installed at Nantwich and Wrenbury stations

Nantwich railway station is to have a life-saving defibrillator installed as part of a scheme by Transport for Wales.

The rail operator is rolling our defibs to around 200 stations on its network, including Nantwich.

Transport for Wales have cancelled its Shrewsbury-Crewe rail services via Nantwich during the 2-day “red alert” heatwave next week.

The route is one of several which TfW are cancelling as the region is set to bake in soaring temperatures of up to 36-37 degrees.

The level crossing on busy Newcastle Road in Nantwich is to close for nine days to allow for repairs.

Network Rail has given advance warning of the closure which will be in place from January 5 to 14.
