A number of properties in Nantwich have suffered damage after Storm Frank battered the region.

The high winds blew down trees and ripped off roof tiles and lead flashing from houses.

Fire crews attended one incident on Millstone Lane in Nantwich shortly after 10am today (December 30) when lead flashing was blown off a roof.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue used a seven metre ladder to access the roof and remove a large piece of flashing which was hanging over the pavement, endangering pedestrians.

Meanwhile, a tree was blown down on Beam Street in Nantwich, close to the police station.

It landed on a property but no one was injured.

A tree was also blown over on the B5074 road between Nantwich and Worleston.

Cheshire Police tweeted a warning to resident of falling trees and structural damage.

The storm is due to blow over, but unsettled weather continues tomorrow (December 31) with rain at times.
