Nantwich Town’s postponed FA Cup first qualifying round tie against Ramsbottom United has been rescheduled to Tuesday night.

The original tie due to be staged yesterday (Sept 17) was called off after heavy rain left the North West Counties Premier side’s pitch waterlogged.

The Dabbers will be full of confidence going into Tuesday’s game (kick off 7.45pm) after a fine 3-1 away win at FC United last week.

But boss Jimmy Quinn is not taking Ramsbottom lightly.

“Ramsbottom will be a different proposition and we know we will be in for a hard game,” he said.

“They are a decent side and they will be up for the game. We have improved defensively in the last couple of games and it’s important we stay tight at the back.”

Ramsbottom joint player manager Anthony Johnson said: “We have had Nantwich watched on a couple of occasions and we know what to expect from them.”
