A Nantwich respite centre providing adult care could still be closed by Cheshire East Council.
This is despite people calling for continued respite or short break provision in Crewe and Nantwich under a three-month consultation.
Cheshire East Council staged the consultation into the future provision of adult day care services, and results are being studied.
The council’s Cabinet agreed in September to enhance existing facilities and potentially transfer some day and short break services from Queens Drive in Nantwich as well as other centres in Knutsford, Macclesfield and Wilmslow.
The number of responses received means the council has had to delay its final decisions in February/March.
Cllr Roland Domleo, Cabinet member for adult services, said: “We received a great deal of feedback and feel more time is needed, not only to reflect on these comments, but also to consider the options raised through this process.
“It is therefore now expected the council will make a final decision in February/March. No services will be affected before this time.
“We realise this has been a difficult process for many and we would like to thank everyone for their continued patience and assistance. Rest assured, we will provide you with another update when further information is available.”
More than 100 people attended three public meetings and 278 people attended customer meetings on the subject.
Almost 200 questionnaire responses were also sent in.
