Nantwich Town return to the Weaver Stadium today (March 24) to take on fellow mid-table side Kendal Town.
After three away games on the trot, Jimmy Quinn’s side will be looking to get points on the board to start moving up the league.
Last Saturday’s narrow defeat against high-flyers Northwich Victoria dropped them to 14th place, only nine points above the relegation zone.
“Northwich are a decent side and we took the lead but didn’t hold on to it for long enough,” said the Nantwich boss.
“We had a lot of young players in our line-up but, in the end, Northwich’s experience made the difference. We need to get going again against Kendal and I’m sure we will.”
Quinn is getting his squad in early for a pre-match get together in preparation for what is a big game for the Dabbers.
“We’ve beaten Kendal once here (in the FA Cup) but they’ve won twice at their place (League and FA Trophy) so we need to even it up.”
Sean Cooke will sit out the game for the first of a two-match ban while Mat Bailey (groin) faces a fitness test.
Chris Flynn, Rodney Jack and Darren Moss are all continuing to recover from injuries.
Kendal have been boosted by the return of tough-tackling George Melling but have Marc Joseph out suspended while Rory Winters is injured.
“We’ve still got eight or nine games to go and we want to win as many of those as we can,” said Kendal chief Lee Ashcroft.
“I know Jimmy Quinn well and it’s a fantastic pitch at Nantwich so we’ll be going there and looking for a good game.”
