Visitors to Wistaston are enjoying a splash of colour thanks to a sprinkling of flowerbeds blooming in the village.
Designs were made by the Wistaston in Bloom committee of keen gardeners and representatives from Wistaston Parish Council.
New planting takes place each year during summer and winter.
Wistaston Parish Council pays for the contractor to plant each flowerbed, which this year as well as last summer and winter has been Cheshire East Council.
Flowerbeds are located at Wells Green corner, Jackson’s Corner on Crewe Road, Westfield Drive, Wistonia Centre shops at Kings Drive, outside and opposite Wistaston Bowling Club on ChurchLane, Woodside Lane, Laurel Drive, and Beech Drive.
There is also a sensory garden at Joey The Swan, and a flowerbed outside The Woodside on Valley Road which is planted by the pub.
Wistaston in Bloom committee judged every front garden in early July for the best kept garden award.
The winning garden will be announced at Wistaston’s 30th Annual Flower and Produce Show on Saturday August 18.
Wistaston participates every year in the annual North West in Bloom (Town category) which covers Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.
Judges visited earlier this week with the result expected in September.
