A Nantwich school had the kettle on all morning to help raise cash for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Sound and District Primary PTA invited parents and visitors to a coffee morning where mums and Year 6 helpers served cuppas and cakes.
Best-sellers included pretty rose petal cupcakes, decorated by Fiona Hackshall of Bespoke Celebration Cakes in Nantwich whose son attends the school.
A “Guess the Weight of the cake” competition, raffle and sale of handcrafted greeting cards put further cash in the pot for the charity.
PTA secretary Rosie Shaw said: “We were thrilled with the response to the day. Parents always get behind a good cause at Sound and we made over £300.”
Other fundraisers staged by the group will help equip a new classroom being built at the Victorian school. Next in the pipeline is a Halloween disco.
The school hosts an open day and evening today (September 24) for prospective parents, offering them a chance to look round its pretty setting and meet teachers.
