Nantwich CC 1sts’ slump in form continued as they were beaten by six wickets away at Toft.

Nantwich were put into bat but were skittled out for just 161 runs off 52.5 overs.

Openers Jonny Kettle (22) and Ray Doyle (19) provided a solid start but only Robert Cook-Sievewright offered any true resistance against a potent Toft attack.

He went on to score 47 from 70 balls, but Toft’s James Lomas took the bowling honours with five wickets for 57 runs from 26 overs.

In reply, Toft were quickly on the front foot through openers James Drummond (19) and Jake Hancock (13), before number three Rob Jones rattled up 56 to put the hosts in the driving seat.

Patrick Roberts continued his good work and finished off the innings with a knock of 43 not out.

Toft reached 162-4 with seven overs to spare.

Chris Connolly was pick of the Nantwich bowlers, taking two wickets for 26, from eight.

Nantwich 2nd team were also beaten by Toft at Whitehouse Lane.

The hosts hit 194-8 from their 50 overs, but Toft reached their target with the loss of six wickets and 3.3 overs to spare.
