Crewe & Nantwich RUFC 1sts broke club records with an astonishing 141-3 victory over Aston Old Edwardians.
The Vagrants side ran in 21 tries, with Toby Ward scoring six, and Joe Gammage four.
Although it was against the bottom club who have lost all 14 games this season, the display sends out a strong message to other title contenders in Midlands 2 West (North).
The scoring started in the first minute when 2nd row Phil Alcock crashed over after several phases of play.
Tries then came constantly with Crewe scoring around 70 points in each half.
Aston OE, who have had a difficult season, never gave up and worked hard throughout.
But Crewe were determined to put in a performance of note.
The try scorers were Alcock, Little, Ward (6), Gammage (4), Robinson, Standley, and two each for Buckley, Collins, Barker and Woodward.
Little kicked 18 conversions, but man of the match was captain Niall McGregor, who received the award from match sponsor County Insurance for an outstanding display in open play and set piece.
Crewe & Nantwich coach Andy Brown praised a few of the 1st team debutants.
He said: “Sam Baldwin made a good debut for the 1sts on the wing, playing alongside his brother Tom on the other wing.
“And Scott Cann playing his first game of the season at scrumhalf, also put in a strong performance, firing the backs into action at every opportunity.”
It will be an altogether tougher prospect next weekend when they travel to face in-form Bridgnorth, who are just four points behind them in fourth place.
“Bridgnorth are a form team in the league with a significant win against Moseley Oak to their credit,” Brown added.
“They have also reached the semi finals of the prestigious Midlands Intermediate Cup playing on February 8 against the unbeaten league leaders Leighton Buzzard from Midlands 2 East and we wish them well with that encounter.
“We need your support at Bridgnorth, it will be an exciting match. Your support has made a difference several times this season at away games and we need your help!”
Kick off next Saturday January 25 is 2.15pm.
Meanwhile, Crewe & Nantwich 2nds welcome Liverpool Veterinary 1sts to the Vagrants, kick off 2.15pm, as they continue their challenge for promotion.
