Nantwich women are being urged to dust off their boots and sign up for St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice’s annual Midnight Walk.
The event aims to be the biggest yet as the hospice reaches a major milestone, and sets an ambitious 10-year £2m target.
This year is the Midnight Walk’s 10th anniversary, and the event has already helped to raise more than £1.8 million since it started.
This year the hospice hopes to raise another £200,000.
To join in the fundraising drive, ladies can now register online at www.midnightwalk.co.uk to take part in the walk on June 28.
Around 1,000 women are expected to join the walk which covers 13.1 miles from Reaseheath College in Nantwich, through Nantwich and then into Crewe.
There’s also the option of the “Half Moon” walk, which is a 6.5-mile route.
Many participants complete the walk in memory of a lost loved one, or have family or friends who are currently battling cancer or other life-threatening illnesses.
Jane Thompson, head of events at St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice, said: “The Midnight Walk is a great way to get involved with fundraising for St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice.
“While it is a challenge because 13.1 miles is quite a long way, it is a lot of fun and lovely to see the ladies all coming together.”
If you would like to sign up to participate in this year’s Midnight Walk, you can register at www.midnightwalk.co.uk or call 01606 555 688.
