Nantwich CC 1sts secured only their third outright league victory of the season with a 7-wicket win away at Grappenhall.
And it was largely due to a stunning bowling performance by Nantwich’s Liam Livingstone, who took 7 for 114 off 23 overs.
The hosts elected to bat but only lasted 46 of their 55 overs, eventually being skittled out for 180.
Jimmy Warrington took the other three wickets for Nantwich, who were on top after breaking through the stubborn resistance of Grappenhall openers Adam Roylance (45) and James McCoy (23).
Livingstone was also the star with the bat for Nantwich as they chased down their target in just 34 overs and the loss of three wickets.
Ashley Shaw (8) fell for lbw early on, but Livingstone smashed 16 fours and one 6 as he and Frank Farrington (30) put on 113 runs for the second wicket stand.
Robert cook-Sievewright finished off the innings with an unbeaten 39 to see the visitors over the line.
It was a much-needed victory for the Whitehouse Lane outfit who are languishing third from bottom in the Cheshire CB Premier League.
