Hundreds of pupils across Nantwich were celebrating another set of amazing A level results today.
And it was another record-breaking year for Brine Leas Sixth Form (BL6) students.
Many students surpassed their target grades and almost all with work, apprenticeships and university options already open to them.
99% of Year 13 students achieved A* to E, with 51% gaining A* to B, 79% with A* to C and 20% gaining A* or As.
Headteacher Andrew Cliffe feels that in the face of exams getting ever harder, students have performed remarkably well.
“There are some real individual success stories both with those gaining vocational qualifications and those going down the more traditional ‘A’ level route,” said Mr Cliffe.
“The destinations of our students this year are varied and appropriate – examples of this include Bentley Motors, the BBC, Oxford University, a 4-year football scholarship in America and Fashion Design.
“Students have worked really hard and they have also taken advantage of the other opportunities on offer in BL6, such as work experience, charity fund raising and EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) to make themselves ready for the next stage of their lives.
“I believe our students are leaving us confident and well prepared and they can be counted among the very best young people in the country. Well done to staff, students and their families!”
Among the headline performers were Elliot Bailey who secured 3 A*s, Hannah Bryant with 3 As, and Molly Cassidy with 2 A*s and an A grade, and Jess Dickson with A* and 2 As.
Nicola Craggs earned 2 A*s and a B; Susanna Findlay 2 As and B; Jack Griffiths 2 As and B; Andrew Holland an A*, A and B; Alecia Jackson 2 As and C; Roger Muirhead A*, A and C; Emily Rhodes 2 As and B; Will Neville 2 As and B; Will Simmons A*, A and B; Ben Telfer 2 As and C; Imani White A*, A and B.
