Nantwich CC 1sts slumped to a nine-wicket defeat away at bottom club Neston.
Nantwich batted first and were bowled out for 156, three overs short of their allotted 55.
Number 10 Jimmy Warrington top scored with the bat with 28, skipper Ray Doyle’s 25 the only other reasonable contribution in a poor batting display.
Ash Davis did the damage for the Neston attack, notching five wickets for 34 runs off his 12 overs.
In reply, the hosts rattled off the runs required with the loss of just one wicket in 39 overs.
Openers Jack Smith (67 not out) and Dane Williams (59) led the way, as Nantwich attack for once appeared toothless.
Ben Mogg was the only wicket taker, having Williams caught by Farrington.
It was a disappointing outcome after Nantwich’s 10-wicket victory the week before at home to Oxton CC.
And the defeat leaves Nantwich close to the relegation zone with four matches in the Cheshire County Premier League.
The Whitehouse Lane team has also suffered this season from five cancelled or abandoned matches – the most of any team in the league.
Nantwich 2nds faired little better as they hosted Neston 2nds at Whitehouse Lane.
Nantwich finished on 200-8 from 55 overs, but Neston reached 201 with loss of just two wickets.
