Nantwich CC 1sts secured their Premier League place with a vital win at home to Grappenhall.
The nervous Whitehouse Lane faithful were soon at ease as Nantwich dominated the contest, winning by 141 runs.
And they have a stunning batting display by Liam Livingstone to thank, as he hit a majestic 135 from 135 balls, including 18 fours and six sixes.
Only opener Ashley Shaw (26) contributed from the rest of Nantwich batting order as they reached 214 all out, 2.4 overs short of their 55.
It was still a reachable target, and a defeat here for Nantwich would have left their league survival hopes dangling.
But the bowlers showed no mercy as they ripped through Grappenhall’s order, dismissing them for just 73 runs in 31 overs.
Oliver Griffiths took four wickets and Jimmy Warrington three, as Grappenhall’s top scorer Adam Roylance could only manage 16 runs.
Livingstone completed a fine performance with two wickets, and Ashley Shaw grabbed the other.
The victory leaves Nantwich fourth from bottom on 237 points, 34 points clear of the bottom two with just one league match remaining.
