Matt Bell signs for Nantwich Town

Promising centre midfielder Matt Bell is the latest to sign for Nantwich Town as Phil Parkinson’s squad continues to take shape.

The 23-year-old former Leek Town and Mansfield Town man is another strong addition to the squad.

And Parkinson has also secured a number of other players who have committed themselves to the club this week.

Parkinson said: “Bell is another young exciting player who has impressed me greatly, both in terms of his ability and desire to play for the club.

“His addition pretty much finalises my midfield preferences at this stage, though we are still working hard to strengthen the squad further.”

Other players to sign this week include goalkeepers Krystian Burzynski and Terry Smith, Elliot Osborne, PJ Hudson, Kyle Blake, Elliot Booth, Brandon Mighten and Cliff Moyo.

Also signed is Chris Smith, who won national competition to win a professional Football contract and joined Swindon Town under Paulo Di Canio making his league debut.

While new ones arrive, other players are heading out of the Weaver Stadium.

One big loss is Ben Harrison who has been snapped up by Telford.

“This is obviously disappointing,” said Phil Parkinson.

“As we made Ben an extremely good offer to stay and continue his development with Nantwich.

“But the lure of testing himself at the next level right now, has obviously appealed and we wish him all the best.

“As I have said all along, I only want players who are single-minded about playing for Nantwich Town at this time and while we are looking to strengthen our potions at centre half.

“I am more than pleased with the quality that we have been able to secure elsewhere, especially so early in the close season.”

Nantwich Town’s new signing Jon Moran believes he owes the Dabbers for all the work they put in with him when he was on loan.

Moran was released in the close season by Crewe Alexandra and had offers from Scottish side Dundee United and Conference Premier side Wrexham.

He said: “Obviously I had couple options so my head has been scrambled for a while.

“The club was fantastic to me when I was on loan last season.

The fans were different class and I want to repay them. I want to be bring back success to them.”

Moran joined from the League One side on loan in March and played six out of the seven games after making his debut in March against Rushall Olympic.

“I want to be part of successful team here at Nantwich Town.

“All the lads that I have spoken to want to do well, we want to do well and don’t you worry we will do our best for the club.”

Nantwich first friendly is against his former club Crewe Alexandra on Sunday July 19, 2015 kick off 2pm.
