Hardy athletes battled strong winds and rain to compete in the Cheshire Triathlon in Nantwich, writes Jonathan White.
Hundreds took part in a 200 or 500m swim in the outdoor brine pool, a 20km bike ride, and finishing with a 2.5km or 5km run around Barony Park.
Competitors in the Cheshire Triathlon varied from novices to club triathlete level and many were raising money for charity.
Strong winds made conditions in the pool particularly choppy and rain for the majority of the event made cycling more challenging.
The finish point in the Barony Park featured an athlete massage area, photographic area, several trade stands and food outlets.
Each finisher received a medal and there were also trophies for category winners.
