Barnardo's shop front

Children’s charity Barnardo’s is appealing for volunteers to help at one of its two charity shops in Nantwich.

The shop, on Beechwood Close, Stapeley, is looking for volunteers to commit to a minimum of four hours a week.

The community shop is open seven days a week, from 9am to 5pm during the week, 9am to 4.15pm on a Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on a Sunday.

Volunteers will take on a variety of responsibilities including working on the till,
sorting clothes and meeting and greeting customers.

Shop manager Alison Evans said: “We need enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to help.

“Our shop may be tucked away but you can be guaranteed a friendly welcome – where people have fun, meet new friends and learn different skills.

“Any new recruits will be working in a very supportive atmosphere and can work hours that fit around them.”

The shop sells a range of ladieswear, menswear, children’s clothes, toys, household items, books and game.

Alison added: “We give full training here, which really helps people with their confidence and it also looks great on a CV.

“There is never a dull moment in a charity shop, so pop in and find out more.”

Louise Steele who lives locally, has been volunteering at the Barnardo’s store there for six months.

She said: “It feels good to give time to my local community.

“I’ve made friends and learnt so much already.”

To help, call Alison on 01270 623400 or call into the shop for an application form.

Members of the public are also able to drop off donations at the shop.
