Nantwich Town and Crewe Alex stars took time out to from busy football schedules to deliver donations to a local hospital.
Players and staff from both clubs turned up at Leighton Hospital’s Child and Adolescent Unit with toys, games and gifts for young patients.
They are among a number of big-hearted groups who have donated during the festive period.
These include staff from Sainsbury’s Nantwich, Mecca Bingo Crewe, Barnaby’s Playbarn, Offley Primary School, and Conviviality Retail.
Members of Dabbers Scooter Club also bought and donated presents for patients who attend the Paediatric Outpatients Department over the festive period.
Other patients in the hospital benefitted from donations and activities such as ward-based parties, decorations made by the Sunday School pupils of West Street Christian Fellowship, a number of choir performances and gifts for each ward donated by the Nantwich Elim Church.
Laura Riddle, Mid Cheshire Hospitals charity manager, said: “On behalf of our patients, their families and our staff, I’d like to thank everybody who has helped to make these donations possible – whether they are customers, employees, owners or supporters.
“Staff who were working over the festive period, as well as in the run up to it, ensured that all of the generous donations were used to benefit those patients who were in hospital recently and made sure their hospital experience was as positive as possible.
“I would like to thank everyone who has supported both the Trust and the Charity over the past 12 months – your donations, gifts and events, however big or small, really have made a difference and will continue to do so for years to come.”
