A man was arrested by armed police in Nantwich today after reports an elderly woman was threatened with a knife.
The incident happened in the Queens Drive area of the town at around 2am today (November 9).
Officers from the Alliance Armed Policing Unit, which provides armed response teams in Cheshire and North Wales, were sent to the scene.
A Cheshire Police spokesman confirmed: “At 2.11am on Thursday November 9, armed officers attended an address on Queens Drive, Nantwich, after reports of a man threatening an elderly woman with a knife.
“A 48-year-old man was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and is currently helping officers with their enquiries.”
