Players, staff and supporters were all honoured at Nantwich Town awards evening at the end of the 2017-18 campaign, writes Steve Sharman.
Defender Joel Stair (pictured) was awarded the Nantwich Town Player of the Year, and Jamie Morgan and Troy Bourne also picked up awards.
Fellow defender Bourne took the Player’s Player of the Season and the Manager’s Player of the Season with the latter presented to the youngster by boss Dave Cooke.
Full-back Jamie Morgan also took two awards on the night as he won the Young Player of the Year beating Bourne by one vote, while the former Sandbach defender was voted the NTISA Edencroft Player of the Year.
In the evening’s other awards, Sean Cooke claimed the goal of the season with his stunning strike against Stalybridge Celtic at the Weaver Staduim, chosen by supporters as the number one goal of the year.
Cooke was also awarded the top goalscorer – an award shared with striker Harry Clayton with the pair both scoring 18 goals this season.
The Supporter of the Year was given to Rob Woods whilst the golden moment of the campaign was awarded to Crewe Alex keeper Will Jaaskelainen for his late penalty save in the win away at Kettering Town in the FA Cup.
Staff were also honoured with Club Secretary marking 500 games with the club, and press officers Steve Sharman and Ryan Batty collecting awards for their efforts throughout the season.
Mayor of Cheshire and Nantwich Cllr Arthur Moran joined club chairman Tony Davison in hosting and presenting the awards at the Weaver Stadium.
And the Cheshire Senior Cup, which Nantwich Town won last week beating Stockport Town in the final, was also on display.
