Nantwich CC produced a brilliant performance to reach their first T20 National finals day next month.
The Whitehouse Lane team took advantage of home soil to ease past tricky quarter-final opponents in Ormskirk yesterday (August 12).
Ormskirk won the toss and elected to bat first but were soon seeing wickets tumble.
Opener Andrew Baybutt was run out for 15 and Jimmy Warrington then skittled out the next three batsmen before they could reach double figures, as they limped to 33-4.
Owen Griffiths and Gary Knight provided some resistance and gave the visitors hope with knocks of 23 and 27 respectively.
They were eventually all out for just 102 from their 20 overs.
Nantwich skipper Ray Doyle (pictured) then led the reply in exemplary fashion, showing his experience with an excellent 39 not out from 42 balls.
Ben Johnston and Luke Robinson contributed valuable knocks, and the hosts eased to their victory target in just 15.1 overs with the loss of three wickets.
Now they will prepare for the national finals day in Derbyshire CCC on Sunday September 16, where they will play a semi-final and possibly a national final.
Messages of congratulations have poured in, including from Lancashire CC and England batsman Liam Livingstone, who starred for Nantwich as their pro a few seasons ago.
