Police are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage which could help find out why two people died in a horror crash on the A530 near Nantwich.

Two people in their 60s, both from Nantwich, were killed in the accident which happened at 1.46pm on Friday (November 2) on the A530, Whitchurch Road, in Newhall.

The collision involved a DAF box van and black Citroen C4.

A 63-year-old woman from Nantwich who was the passenger in the Citroen died at the scene.

The driver, a 66-year-old man from Nantwich, was taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital by Air Ambulance.

But he died shortly after in hospital.

Their next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the van was taken to Leighton Hospital as a precautionary measure and has since been released.

Inquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who believes they may have witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of the stretch of road at around the time of the accident.
